ODD STATISTICS

Corrie made a “pair” in the Club’s 1937/38 A-Grade premiership after the side scored 260 and 313 in its first and second innings respectively.

Ivey (Snr & Jnr) are the only father/son combination to play in an A-Grade premiership for the Club (1935/36 and 1936/37).

Between the 1938 and 1940 seasons, opening batsman G.Peachey scored ten scores between 40-49 without notching a 50+ score!

In 1940 a D. Cugley (has to be related to Noel) played for St. Linus against Pascoe Vale Footballers, making 56 and taking 2-72 in a losing score.

Farrell also made a “pair” in the Club’s 1955/56 B-Grade premiership, although the Club scored 96 and 97 in its two innings to defeat Trinitarians at MacDonald Reserve.

Jim Matthews won the Club’s B-Grade bowling averages in the premiership year of 1955/56, yet didn’t play in the finals series.

Terry Hargreaves is the only bowler recorded at the Club having taken well in excess of 150 ‘A’ Grade wickets with an average of less than 10 per wicket! In fact he played just 38 A-Grade games, taking 194 wickets @ 9.75.

Rob Pianalto scored 67 and 66 n.o. in the Club’s 2003/04 B-Grade premiership from the side’s scores of 163 and 8-125 respectively. He also took 5 wickets in the match, in what was clearly a ‘man of the match performance’.

Neil Howard and Bill McGowan have shared the taking of the opposition’s ten wickets on no less than seven occasions, including two occasions in finals matches.

Neil Howard took four wickets in the one over against Haig Amateurs during the 1989-90 semi-final win, yet failed to take a hat-trick.

Bill McGowan and Jason McGowan are the only father/son combination to win a club championship (renamed the Bill McGowan Club Champion in 2015).

Bill McGowan is the only Club cricketer to have won the Coburg District Cricket Association medal on two occasions.
